Synergies that drive growth
Through this operation, Mondragon Assembly complements its current technological strengths and takes a key step in its business diversification, gaining direct access to the food packaging sector, especially the manufacture of picking and packing lines.
ATP Packaging is bringing Mondragon Assembly into the food packaging sector as an established partner with extensive sector experience, a solid presence among key customers, high-tech, high-quality products and a strong professional team.
On the other hand, integrating with Mondragon Assembly enables us to join a well-established group. This gives us access to new markets through its international network, as well as to its resources, financial capacity and management systems as a group with multiple plants and locations.
Mikel Gantxegi, the General Manager of Mondragon Assembly, assured that “we will do our utmost to ensure that this partnership contributes to a lasting legacy of innovation and sustained prosperity for all future generations involved in this joint project”.

A strategic operation
ATP Packaging’s shareholders, Nereo Urbano, Ignasi Manresa, Manel Bernat and Joaquín Bellido, were in attendance, along with Mikel Gantxegi, the General Manager of Mondragon, and Igor Herrarte, the President of Mondragon Assembly.
Both companies have identified a high level of convergence and synergy in their activities and are embarking on a new joint chapter with immense potential for development and expansion in the market.
A bit of Mondragon Assembly
Mondragon Assembly is an international group specialising in the development of automation and assembly solutions for the solar, e-mobility and energy storage sectors. It is a cooperative belonging to the MONDRAGON Corporation. Headquartered in Aretxabaleta (Gipuzkoa), the company has a global network of facilities and subsidiaries in several countries: France, Germany, Mexico, Brazil, China, Portugal and Barcelona, as well as commercial subsidiaries in the United States, India and Tunisia. In 2025, it achieved a turnover of €120 million (around 80% of which was from international sales), with a workforce of more than 650 people.
