Chic-kles is a Spanish company based in Valencia that specializes in the manufacture of chewing gum. Renowned for its quality, the company exclusively distributes a wide range of products under the Hacendado brand for Mercadona, one of the most important supermarkets in Spain. Chic-kles stands out for its commitment to quality and flavor variety, consolidating its position as a benchmark in the chewing gum market and satisfying both the everyday needs and special occasions of its consumers.

The challenge: Robotized line for chewing gum cartoning automation

Faced with growing demand, the customer aims to automate the cartoning process for its chewing gum jars to improve efficiency and increase productivity.

The challenge has been to design a fully automated system to replace the current manual process, including both carton forming and product placement.

The solution: A compact solution for cartoning chewing gum jars

We have developed a specific project for the cartoning of chewing gum jars using a Cartesian robot. These jars, coming from the customer’s current line with capper, labeler, weight control and x-ray, arrive aligned at the cartoner’s infeed, with a maximum production capacity of 60 ppm.

The proposal includes a compact cartoner that forms cartons from a Packmaster-type blank instead of a carton with automatic locking bottom. This cartoner operates at a maximum output of 14 cpm.

The automation of the cartoning process has been a key change in our production, allowing us to simplify and strengthen our operations.
