Specializing in the production of delicious sweets, candies and, most notably, exquisite chocolate pralines, Mieszko has been at the forefront of the confectionery world for generations. It offers innovative products based on good quality natural ingredients. The most popular Mieszko brands include Cherrissimo, Amoretta, Magnifique, Chocoladorro and the well-known Michaszki.
The challenge: Robotized line for the automation of candy packaging
The company decided to transform its candy packaging process from a manual to a fully automated system. This change was driven by the need to increase efficiency and gain the capability to handle multiple packaging formats.
This project presented significant challenges such as ensuring uniform candy distribution, managing multiple formats, adapting to several cases, handling transparent bags, and ensuring accurate vertical placement.
The solution: A complete multi-format case packing line with artificial vision and bag flattening solution
The developed solution involves the integration of state-of-the-art machines, including a multi-format case erector, a vision-guided robotic case packer for both vertical and horizontal packing, and a multi-format case sealer with automatic glue gun adjustment.
Compact robotized packaging line consisting of 2 robots with automatic vision system and case erector, guarantees high performance, production output and quality control without occupying much space in production facility.
The line is designed to work with more than 15 different formats of product, packed in 4 different box sizes. Fully automatic format change (both for product and cardboard boxes) allows huge time savings during changing production type. The system achieves a packing speed of 80 bags and 10 boxes per minute.
Optimized number of employees needed for handling product and packaging materials, gives a company a great opportunity to expand other production areas without decreasing global production capacity.
